Revival

by June Star

/

about

This song was written before Dave Hadley and I headed out on tour... it has been mixed and mastered by Timothy Bracken.

In the age of television revivals and making the old new again... there's a real danger of ignoring the greatness of the past. That, somehow, we need to keep updating for the present which inevitably really negates the power of "looking back." These were some thoughts I had while working on this song.

lyrics

even the smallest kiss
will bring me back
it's the drop of water
to keep the flowers from turning black

and now we're sitting
together: back to back
daring each other
to be the first one to crack

somewhere
someone
is going to get to you somehow
and peel back the ways
inside and out

I promise you nothing
nothing so good
as what you have known
or barely understood

waiting in our beds
win or lose
to rise again
as living proof

somewhere
someone
is going to get to you somehow
and peel back the ways
inside and out
